The Skills Register is a series of record books that are designed to make it easy for all early years practitioners to record children's progress throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (2007). Each book contains a class register which enables practitioners to record each child's progression across the EYFS. This book also includes photocopiable sheets which can be copied for each individual child, and show their progress through each of the six areas of learning and development so that you can focus your planning more accurately on what skills children are yet to develop and what they have achieved so far.
This goals in this book are written with children's development and the EYFS guidance for learning at the age of 0 to 26 months in mind so that practitioners can support babies and young toddlers' learning at an appropriate level. The other three titles in the series cover the three other age ranges in the early years and are designed to overlap and be used together to ensure practitioners are able to easily identify children who are making extraordinary progress, as well as children who might need a little more help.
This book can be used as part of the EYFS profile in order to easily record and pass on information on individual children's progess to other early years professionals.
About the author
The author, Sheila Riddall-Leech, has extensive and varied experience in working with children and young people in a range of settings both in the UK and overseas. She has worked with the assessment team at CACHE and been an NVQ assessor and verifier and OfSTED inspector. Sheila runs her own training company for childcare practitioners and playworkers and has written several books on related subjects.
